Advocate Mehraj-ud-Din Bhat elected as Secretary of Bar Association Pampore

Pampore: Advocate Mehraj-ud-Din Bhat was on Monday was elected as the new Secretary of the Bar Association Pampore.
The elections, conducted in the premises of Munsif Court Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, also involved contests for the position of President.
The Bar Association Pampore reported a tie for the post of President, with Advocates Arshid Ahmad Dar and Arif Hussain Masoodi both receiving an equal number of votes.
“Both candidates showed a tough fight against each other and got an equal number of votes. As a result, a separate notification will be issued in the coming days to announce the elections for the President’s post,” the association members told Kashmir Reader.
In the Secretary’s race, Advocate Mehraj-ud-Din Bhat emerged as the winner by a narrow margin, securing 23 votes out of a total of 40, while his opponent, Advocate Syed Waris, received 20 votes.
Members of the Bar Association congratulated Advocate Mehraj-ud-Din Bhat on his victory and expressed optimism that he would diligently work for the welfare of the Bar and the people. The newly elected Secretary was honored with garlands by association members during the celebratory occasion.
