Srinagar: Regional cum Facilitation Centre NR-II, SKUAST-K celebrated the 8th National Ayurveda Day at the Government Degree College Handwara. The event was organized by the Regional cum Facilitation Centre Northern Region-ll, SKUAST-K, under the National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
The event commenced with an inaugural session by Er Falak Marazi,Technical Officer RCFC NR-II, who provided insights about the significance of Ayurveda Day. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Ayurveda for One Health,” emphasizing the holistic approach of Ayurveda towards well-being. Nisar Ahmad Lone, Assistant Professor at GDC Handwara, highlighted the importance of Ayurveda in promoting a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
The Chief Guest for the event was Prof Mohammad Shafi Lone, Principal GDC Handwara, who shared his thoughts on Ayurveda Day and its significance in modern times. He emphasized the role of Ayurveda in promoting overall health and well-being. Dr Raja Amjid, District AYUSH Officer Kupwara, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Dr Amjid encouraged the students to incorporate Ayurveda principles into their daily lives, recognizing the ancient system’s relevance in the contemporary world.
The event included a series of presentations by experts. Dr Mudasir Ah Dar, Deputy Director RCFC NR-II, discussed the practical applications of Ayurveda in everyday life and highlighted the significance of medicinal plants in daily routines and their value addition. Dr. Mohammad Ayoub, Medical Officer AYUSH, spoke about the importance of Ayurveda and its integration into daily life. Additionally, other staff members, Dr. Ather Sidiq Zarger and Dr. Liyaqat Ayoub, provided an overview of Ayurveda Day and its relevance.
To engage the students and foster awareness, a poster and essay competition on the theme “Ayurveda for Everyone on Everyday” was conducted. These activities aimed to instill the principles of Ayurveda in the young generation, who are the future torchbearers of this ancient knowledge system.
The 8th National Ayurveda Day celebration at GDC Handwara was a resounding success, promoting the wisdom of Ayurveda and its relevance in maintaining holistic well-being in today’s fast-paced world. The event provided a platform for education, discussion, and engagement with the principles of Ayurveda, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.
