Several youth join BJP in Pampore, party says focusing on youth

Pampore: Dozens of people, mostly youth and women, on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a programme held at Townhall Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
They joined the party in the presence of senior BJP leader, District President Pulwama, Mohammad Lateef Bhat, Vice President Mohammad Asif Ganaie, DDC member Adv Minah Lateef, and DDC Dadsara Avtar Singh. They were garlanded and welcomed into the party fold.
A large number of people, mostly youth and women, joined the programme during which the participants raised slogans in favour of BJP leaders Mohammad Lateef Bhat and Mohammad Asif Ganaie.
The aim of the programme is to strengthen the party in the Pampore Constituency, Lateef Bhat told Kashmir, adding, “BJP is fully prepared for both Municipal and Panchayat elections and our candidates are present in various constituencies of the Pulwama district.”
“BJP has effectively mobilized its candidates, making it evident when they step into the political arena. It’s a matter of great joy that many people in Pampore town today joined the BJP, and we warmly welcomed them. It’s a positive development, ” Bhat said.
He added, “We were exploited by various political parties for the past 70 years. BJP shut down their shops. Pampore is known as the face of South Kashmir recognised throughout the country for Saffron.”
Lateef said he has initiated similar programmes in Pulwama and Tral, with a strong focus on youth. “My aspiration remains for the youth to actively engage, be it in Municipal or Panchayat elections,” he said, adding, “I started this mission from my own home during the DDC elections, where I encouraged my daughter Adv Minah Lateef to step forward. She won the election, defeating the NC and PDP.”
