‘Man Tiger’ among 4 drug peddlers arrested in Pampore

Contraband, psychotropic substances seized

Pampore: Police have arrested four more drug peddlers in the last two days in Saffron Town Pampore area of police district Awantipora and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Pampore headed by SHO Pampore Jazib Mohammad under the supervision of SDPO Pampore Krishan Rattan during naka checking at Patalbagh Pampore intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK01H-0159.
During the search, one gram of Herion-like substance and 6.100 kg of Poppy Straw were recovered from their possession. The drug peddlers have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Mir @Man Tiger son of Abdul Khaliq Mir, resident of Kadlabal Pampore and Aliyas Ahmad Khanday son of Bashir Ahmad Khanday, resident of Namblabal Pampore.
They were arrested and shifted to the police station where they remain in custody. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized, a police official told Kashmir Reader.
He said that a case FIR Number. 110/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pampore and further investigation has been initiated.
Two more drug peddlers were arrested in Pampore and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
As per police officials, the police party of Police Station Pampore headed by SHO Pampore Inspector Jazib Mohammad under the supervision of SDPO Pampore Krishan Rattan at a checkpoint established at Galander Crossing intercepted a vehicle Etios bearing registration number DL7CG-7155 with two persons on board. They have been identified as Jafar Jahangir son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir and Sahil Mushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, both residents of Safapora. During checking, 115 bottles of Corex syrup were recovered from their possession. The duo have been arrested and shifted to the police station where they remain in custody. Besides vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
A case vide FIR No. 109/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pampore.
It is pertinent to mention that during the last three months, Police Station Pampore has registered six NDPS Act Cases against 11 involved drug peddlers. One notorious drug peddler was also detained under PIT NDPS.
