Green J&K drive launched in Ganderbal

Pampore: Department of Forest Ecology, Environment on Sunday launched a green J&K Plantation drive on the eve of the formal launch of Green J&K drive 2023-24 at different locations Sindh Forest Division area of Ganderbal district.
The Green J&K drive is a public outreach programme of the government of J&K being conducted under different campaigns like “One Beat Guard, One Village programme” and “Har Gaon Hariyali”.
The Department of Forest Ecology and Environment Government of J&K launched the Green Jammu and Kashmir drive which was inaugurated by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha by doing a ceremonial plantation with other officials of the department which was live-streamed from IIM Jammu and on this day.
Sindh Forest Division organised various plantation programmes at different locations of Ganderbal and also a mega plantation drive was organised in collaboration with 13BN SSB at Dignibal in which officials of the Forest Department and SSB Participated, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Saleem Ajaz Mughal Range Officer from Forest Department started the plantation drive accompanied by Dr Gaurav Mishra. Commandant Medical, Virender Singh Choudhary,-Dy Commandant, Rafique Ahmad-Assistant Commandant, Dr Harshit Luthra-Assistant Commandant/Medical.
The drive aims at creating a people’s movement at a massive scale with the involvement of all stakeholders, particularly village panchayats, women, students, urban local bodies, institutions, NGOs and civil society.
Green Jammu and Kashmir campaign by the Forest Department is being implemented in J-K in the spirit of public participation which will bring economic benefits apart from improving the quality and quantity of forests.
