Hajin: A training program, under the aegis of SAMAGRA Shiksha, involving School Management and Development Committees (SMDCs) and School Management Committees (SMCs), was on Saturday organised here at Government Girls Primary School Sadunara by the Zonal Education Office, Hajin.
The program was presided over by ZEO Hajin Abdul Rahim Lone.
Headmaster Sajad Ahmad, Chairman Civil Society Haji Bashir Ahmad Dar, staff members and PRIs were present on the occasion.
The community leaders were sensitized and trained with various topics including roles and responsibilities of SMC, SMDC, account record keeping and maintenance, inclusive education, Right to Education (RTE), Out of School Children (OoSC), etc.
They were acquainted with the roles and responsibilities of SMCS, SMDCS and members in the development of Schools. They were requested to come forward and revive the education system for the future of children of their locality. They were also made aware of government schemes like the Mid Day Meal programme, free textbooks and free uniforms for classes 1st to 8th.
While addressing the gathering, Zonal Education Officer Hajin Abdul Rahim Lone highlighted the role of the community in attaining the goal of quality education. He elaborated on the role and responsibilities of the School Management Committee. HOI Sajad Ahmad Wagay presented a vote of thanks.
