Govt High School Dogripora named after Inspector Feroz Ahmad

Awantipora: Continuing with the campaign ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh-Mitti Ko Naman Veeron Ka Vandan’ Awantipora Police on Saturday organised a seminar on ‘Sacrifice of Martyrs for the Nation’ at Government High School Dogripora area of this Police District.
The seminar was organized in collaboration with Government High School Dogripora which has been renamed as ‘Shaheed Inspector Feroz Ahmad’. SDPO Awantipora Mumtaz Ali Bhatti was the chief guest.
The programme was attended by DO Reshippra Ishfaq Ahmad, CRPF officers, families of martyrs, civil society members and the general public of the area. About 250 students and teachers of the school also participated.
During the seminar, the girl students sang the national anthem and performed many cultural events. Police officials and other dignitaries paid floral tributes to Inspector Feroz Ahmad for “sacrificing his life in service of the nation”.
Speaking on the occasion, SDPO Awantipora Mumtaz Ali Bhatti said, “This programme has been organised to remember martyrs of J&K Police and other security personnel and to pay tributes to the brave hearts who sacrificed their lives for the nation.”
“We should get inspired by the sacrifice of Feroz Ahmad,” he said
On the occasion, Govt High School Dogripora was renamed as Shaheed Inspector Feroz Government High School Dogripora.
Inspector Feroz Ahmad Dar, a resident of Dogripora was killed in a militant attack along with other cops at the Ashmuqam area of Anantnag district in 2017.
His father told Kashmir Reader that the school is the highest seat of learning and renaming it after his son was a real tribute.
“I am highly thankful to the SSP Awantipora Ajaz Ahmad Zargar and SDPO Mumtaz Ali Bhatti who chose my son’s name for the school,” he said.
Awantipora Police also organised a Tiranga rally at Dogripora village. The rally was flagged off by SDPO Awantipora Mumtaz Ali Bhatti, DO Reshippra Ishfaq Ahmad and CRPF officers, besides personnel of police, CRPF, senior citizens, locals residents, hundreds of students and teachers of the school participated in the rally.
