Police organise Tiranga rallies in Pampore, Khrew to celebrate ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’

Civil society members, students participate; Panch Pran Pledge ceremony held at DPL Awantipora

Pampore: A large number of civil society members, senior citizens and students joined the Tiranga rallies organised by Jammu & Kashmir Police at Pampore and Khrew areas of police district Awantipora on Thursday.
The police officials, civil society members, students, police personnel and CRPF personnel amid slogans with tricolours in their hands, marched in the different markets of Saffron Town Pampore and Khrew Town to celebrate ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ under the banner of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign.
The Tiranga rallies were flagged off by Sub Division Police Officer (SDPO) Pampore Krishan Rattan, police officials told Kashmir Reader, adding that the rallies were held to spread awareness about our National Flag.
During the programme, police distributed hundreds of national flags among the participants.
The Tiranga Rally was led by SDPO Pampore Krishan Rattan along with SHO Pampore Jazib Mohammad Bhat, other police and CRPF officers. The rally was attended by hundreds of students, civil society members, local youth, DDC member Adv Minah Lateef, Councillors including Arfat Khan, Zareena Akhtar, Saima Akhtar, Youth and Services Sports Pampore and teachers from different educational institutions of Zone Pampore.
The rallies started from police station Pampore and passed through the old Srinagar-Jammu national highway Kadlabal and Drangbal Pampore and culminated back at the police station Pampore.
A participating officer while sharing the details said that the Tiranga rally is a tribute to those who have selflessly served and protected our country.
Meanwhile, the Panch Pran Pledge ceremony at Police Stations Awantipora, Police Station Tral, Police Posts Aripal, and the main function was held at District Police Lines Awantipora.
In DPL Awantipora SSP Awantipora Ajaz Ahmad Zargar read out the pledge. After reading out the pledge, SSP Awantipora briefed the officers and officials and explained the meaning as well as the purpose of the pledge. He siad the pledge of Panch Pran is aimed at making India a developed country, eliminating the mentality of slavery, being proud of our rich heritage, upholding unity and solidarity, fulfilling duties as citizens, and respecting those who protect the nation.
Among other officers who attended the pledge ceremony included DySP DAR Hilal Khaliq Bhat, SDPO Awantipora Mumtaz Ali Bhatti and other officers and officials.
After the pledge, a plantation drive was organised at DPL Awantipora, headed by SSP Awantipora by planting various saplings. The SSP Awantipora Ajaz Ahmad Zargar thanked all the participants and media persons who joined these events and made them successful.
