Srinagar: The three-day collaborative training programme of KVK-Bandipora-II (Gurez) with MANAGE Hyderabad on ‘Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Agriculture and Allied sectors for officers/officials of agriculture and allied departments concluded at KVK Bandipora-II (Gurez).
Additional District Development Commissioner Omar S Pandit was the Chief Guest on the concluding event and Sub Divisional Magistrate, Gurez Dr. Mudasir A Wani was the Guest of Honour. The three-day event from August 02 to 04 was conducted under the supervision of Director Extension Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi. Dr. Bilal Ahmed Bhat, Programme Coordinator KVK-Bandipora-II (Gurez) while speaking told that the three-day long programme specially designed for officers and officials of various departments had a total of twelve sessions with four sessions daily.
The participants were sensitized about the different skill and entrepreneurship opportunities of various agencies. Dr. Parveen Kumar Training Coordinator of the programme told that 25officers/officials of different departments that include agriculture, horticulture, sericulture, Fisheries National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) participated in this three days collaborative training programme.
On the second day, the participants were also taken on an exposure visit to the herbal garden of an agri-preneur Md. Shams Din Baba at Nayal and to Mountain Agriculture Research & Extension Station (MAR&ES) at Izmarg. On the last day, Dr. Shahaji Phand Deputy Director and Head EAAS, MANAGE delivered a power point presentation on prestigious ACABC scheme of MANAGE.
During the three-day programme, Chief Horticulture Officer, Bandipora Altaf Tantray gave a detailed power point presentation on various schemes of Horticulture under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) of JK UT. Official from J&K Bank also deliberated upon the various schemes of J&K Bank for agriculture and allied sectors.
Dr. Parveen Kumar dwelt at length on the various skill and entrepreneurship opportunities, formation and promotion of FPOs where as Entrepreneurship opportunities available in value addition and food processing were discussed by Dr. Bilal A Bhat. Employment generation through Apiculture, Livestock and Horticulture sector with special reference to Gurez conditions were presented by Dr. Shahnawaz A Dar (Entomologist), Dr. Nazir A Mir (Animal Scientist) and Dr. Bilal A Pandit (Fruit Scientist) of KVK-Gurez.
Dr. Sushrirekha Dass from MANAGE gave a power point presentation on Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Fisheries sector with special reference to Kashmir Valley. Tehsildar Gurez Mr. Rouf Iqbal was also presented in the valedictory. Junior Agri Extension Officers/AEAs, Veterinary Assistant Surgeons, Field level functionaries of sheep husbandry, sericulture, fisheries, sericulture, and Cluster Coordinators of NRLM were the participants in the collaborative training programme.
