Woman dies, husband injured in Pampore accident

Five female passengers injured in Tral road mishap

PAMPORE: A 42-old-year woman was killed and her husband sustained injuries in a road accident at Wahab Sahab Shar Shali area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
Reports said that the incident happened when a scooty met with an accident at Wahab Sahab area of Pampore. The accident took place when the couple was returning home from Wahab Sahab Shrine.
With the help of local people and police, they were brought to PHC Khrew where from they were referred to SMHS hospital Srinagar. However, the woman succumbed to her injuries, police officials told Kashmir Reader.
The deceased has been identified as Shahzada, and the injured as Mohammad Altaf Ganaie (43), the residents of Larev Kakapora, Pulwama.
After the completion of legal medical formalities, the body was handed over to the family members for last rites.
A pall of gloom descended upon the Larev Kakapora village when the body of Shahzada reached home. Hundreds of people gathered at the residence of the deceased, locals told Kashmir Reader.
Police have registered a case in this regard.
Meanwhile, five female passengers were injured in a road accident at Sub Division Tral in Pulwama district.
Locals told Kashmir Reader that a Tata Sumo vehicle on the way to Tral from Doodhmargh, met with an accident near GDC Tral, resulting in injuries to five female passengers.
The injured have been identified as Iqra Jan, Parveena, Zareena, Akhtera and Akhter Jan.
All the injured have been shifted to Sub District Hospital Tral for treatment.
BMO Tral, Dr Varinder Singh confirmed that five injured persons were received by the hospital and among the one injured lady was referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment. Police have taken cognizance of this road accident.
