This mission is going to boost country’s leading status in the world
There is a famous saying which teaches, “Shoot for the moon and even if you miss you shall land among the stars.” Even if it is the fact that the stars are much higher than the moon herself, those who aim high shall reach the heights they aim for provided they work with confidence, persistence and diligence.
On 14th July, India launched the third spacecraft of its most ambitious moon mission; Chandrayaan 3 into space. India is the fourth country in the whole world which has achieved this great feat to explore the sole natural satellite of this planet after the USA, Russia and China. This was another proud moment for all the citizens of this country and particularly for those who love space exploration and know the worth of such missions in the development of this country.
The journey of this third spacecraft in the series is expected to be approximately one month in space. It is expected to reach the moon on 23 August. The scientists and the experts seem more particular and interested in the journey and function of this spacecraft due to the failure of the last mission Chandrayaan 2 to meet the expectations of the developers and the scientists. Although Chandrayaan 2 can hardly be declared a complete failure, it helped our experts to move ahead in the right direction. However, it could fulfill all the duties it was assigned with. However, it was successful in teaching us that every teaching failure is a potential step toward success. We believe that our great scientists have learned from their past mistakes and have developed a more robust and smarter system for moon exploration this time.
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has achieved great feats since its inception more than fifty years ago. One of its greatest achievements is the moon mission led by the series of Chandrayaan spacecraft launched into space. This mission began in the first decade of the current century with the launch of Chandrayaan 1 in 2008 and has reached an advanced stage recently revitalizing the expectations and aspirations of those who love to explore and know about the unexplored universe. India is among the few leading countries in the whole world in the field of space exploration. This Chandrayaan mission particularly is going to boost the country’s leading status in the whole world and it is going to establish the nation among the most trusted and guiding experts for others in the future.
If Chandrayan 3 spacecraft is successful in its soft landing on the moon’s south pole India will be the first country in the world to reach and explore this hitherto unknown region of the satellite. This success will mean a lot for the nation which is already claiming its leadership role in science and technology in the whole world. Some strong critics opposed this mission, particularly after the failure of Chandrayaan 2 in 2019. However, we must understand that failures are part of progress and development in every field of life including science and technology. We must acknowledge the brilliance of the Indian scientists for this Moon Mission particularly because it is more cost effective than all other such missions throughout the world. Hopes sustain us and we are hopeful that the final success of this mission will benefit the whole humankind in the long run.
