Bandipora, July 13: As part of its civic action program, CRPF 3 Bn organised a district-level talent hunt U-21 Football Tournament -2023 at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium Bandipora.
The tournament commenced on July 12, 2023, and will culminate on July 18, 2023, a senior CRPF official said, adding that a total of 16 teams will participate in a week-long tournament.
The tournament was kick-started by Dr Owais Ahmad, District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Mahendra Kumar, PMG, CO. 3 Bn CRPF welcomed and addressed the participating teams.
In his speech, he stated that game is one of the best ways to channelize the energy of youth into a positive direction and help in character building.
On the occasion, SSP Bandipora Lakshay Sharma, Col Ajay Singh Rawat 14 RR Balraj Singh, CO. BSF, Kowshlesh Rai, CO. 14 BSF, Paulian Kep, CO. CISF, and officer of civil administration of Bandipora were also present.
The chief guest and the officers interacted with the players of various teams. A large number of local people of Bandipora arrived at Sher-e-Kashmir stadium to grace the opening ceremony.
The opening match of the tournament was played between Ajhar FC and SCFA (Sports Council Football Academy) in which HCFA won by 5-4 goals.
Apoorwa, Second in Command 3 Bn CRPF and all other officers of the battalion were also present at the inauguration of the football tournament.
