PAMPORE: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Saturday paid tributes to the late former party leader Ghulam Nabi Mir of the Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. on his eighth death anniversary.
The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party president and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah paid tributes to late party leader Ghulam Nabi Mir on his 8th death anniversary.
Mir was the party’s Pulwama district president and hailed from the saffron town of Pampore.
On the occasion of the eighth death anniversary, a prayer meeting was organised in which a number of party workers from Pampore, Awantipora and Tral paid tributes to him and prayed for eternal peace to his soul.
The participants said the late Ghulam Nabi Mir worked for the people with hard work and dedication.
The National Conference is feeling the loss of the late Mir Sahab, a party leader from Pampore said.
National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah addressed the condolence meeting over the phone and paid rich tributes to the late Ghulam Nabi Mir. He recalled Mir as an “honest and loyal” leader of the National Conference.
“Mir Sahab would go to any extent in helping his people,” Dr Farooq said. “I pay my tributes to him on his death anniversary. May Almighty elevate his status in Jannat.”
