BARAMULLA: Acting tough against the drug smugglers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police in Baramulla have booked a notorious drug smuggler under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
The notorious drug smuggler namely Mushtaq Ahmad Lone @Mushtaq, son of Ali Mohd Lone, a resident of Fatehgarh Sheeri has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
Police said that many cases are registered against the said drug smuggler and was involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Fategarh, Sheeri, Heewan and other areas of District Baramulla. Despite his involvement in many FIRs, he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
“Consistent actions of police against the criminals should reassure the community members that police is making all efforts to eradicate social evils and making all efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse,” police said.
