Srinagar: A boy died and another was hospitalized after the duo drowned in Lidder Nallah at Trail Srigufwara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday evening, official sources said.
They said that two boys namely Manzoor Ahmad Bhat resident of Trail Srigufwara and Bashir Ahmad Bhat resident Darigund Trail drowned while ‘crossing over’ Lidder Nallah. “Soon after the news spread, the locals rushed to the site and rescued the duo and took them to SDH Seer”, they said.
“After assessment, the doctors declared one among the duo namely Manzoor Ahmad Wani as declared brought dead”, they said adding the other boy was referred to GMC Anantnag for preferential treatment.
A police official said that they have taken cognizance of the incident for due investigations. (GNS)
