CRPF, AYUSH organise yoga, awareness prog in Awantipora

CRPF organises blood donation camp, medical camp at Lethpora

PAMPORE: A grand yoga awareness programme was organised by 110 Battalion CRPF in association with 130 Battalion CRPF and AYUSH department Pulwama along with the school children of Awantipora at Pandu Park here in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
The program was inaugurated by an elderly man from the Hathiwara village in the presence of Yogesh Purohit, Commanding Officer and other officers of the unit. The event was organised in association with AYUSH Department Pulwama .
Commandant 110 Battalion CRPF Yougesh Prohit, Tehsildar Awantipora Shakeel Ahmad, BDO Awantipora Mohammad Ashraf, ZEO Awantipora Azad Ahmad, and other CRPF officials attended the event. The yoga session was attended by a good number of school students and CRPF personnel, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The idea of the event was to generate awareness among school children and youths for yoga and for better, healthier and balanced physical, mental and spiritual health. During the session, the Commanding Officer of 110 BN CRPF Yougesh Prohit, officials of 110 Bn and 130 Bn CRPF, Director AYUSH, Pulwama Dr Mushtaq Ahmad, and team of Yoga trainers from AYUSH and CRPF and members of local administration and police ASI were also present.
Tourists from various states of the country visiting the park appreciated the initiative and efforts of 110 Battalion CRPF and AYUSH for organising such a programme to encourage the locals, especially the young generation to yoga.
The school children also showed a lot of interest and enthusiasm in taking part in the yoga session. The yoga event was organised as a prelude and curtain raiser to the forthcoming World Yoga Day to be celebrated all over the world.
Talking to the media, Commandant Yogesh Purohit said that the importance of yoga in keeping oneself physically and mentally fit without any constraints of time, space, weather, gender and age. “Yoga is for all. It is time for new generations to come forward and embrace yoga in their daily lifestyle for a happy, healthy and stress-free tomorrow,” he said.
Director AYUSH Dr Mushtaq Ahmad also said that the importance of Yoga in our daily life and appealed the locals and people from all stalks of life to come forward and spread awareness about Yoga in one and all to have a healthy Planet.
Meanwhile, 110 BN CRPF also organized a blood donation Camp and free medical camp at its Headquarters Lethpora area of Pampore.
The mega blood donation awareness camp was organised in association with Red Cross Society Pulwama and Srinagar. The camp was inaugurated by Yogesh Purohit , Commanding Officer of 110 Battalion CRPF by cutting a Ribbon and by donating Blood along with 45 other CRPF Officials, CRPF officials told Kashmir Reader.
Yogesh Purohit, Commanding Officer of 110 Battalion CRPF highlighted the benefits of blood donation and emphasized the importance of the event.
The locals and the Red Cross Society appreciated the initiative and efforts of the 110 Battalion for organising the event and for sending a message of humanity to the youths and encouraging and motivating them for a noble cause.
In a simultaneously organised free medical camp under civic action program by 110 Battalion CRPF, more than 250 personnel of Hathiwara, Chandhara, Lethpora and nearby villages took benefit of the camp wherein medical consultancy, OPD and free medicines were distributed to the needy.
The event was inaugurated by an elderly man from the Hathiwara village in the presence of Yogesh Purohit, Commanding officer and other officers of the unit. The event was organised in association with AYUSH department Pulwama. It was appreciated by the locals and demanded more such camps to be organised by 110 BN CRPF in their area.
The Commanding Officer assured that CRPF will continue to serve, help, encourage and motivate the locals through its civic action programmes.
