My First Experience As A Teacher

My First Experience As A Teacher

In 2018, I completed my MSc Disaster Management from Kashmir University under Geography and Regional Development Department. It was my 2nd attempt to qualify entrance test to get admitted into Kashmir University for two years of regular PG course and in the same university, I did my Bachelor of Education through Distance in 2021. While pursuing my PG course, I learned so many things that have played a significant role in my life.
It was the year 2022; I came into the teaching field and my first journey started at SMMSK. On May 19, 2022, I joined the school for teaching science from 6th up to 9th grade. It had been a wonderful experience for me to have such a good environment that triggered me to use my different ways of teaching so that students felt the ease of learning and doing. Previously I thought I was not meant for teaching but with the passage of time, I got a level of satisfaction in myself that I am good at it.
With the passage of time, students loved my teaching style in the classrooms since I used many examples to make them understand. As a teacher, I had a responsibility to take it as a successful mission for my students. Though I was new in the field, I got a little time to get adjusted to the school environment and the experienced teachers, particularly Mr. Irfan Zazni and Mr. Annas Bhat whose company was in such a way that had built up my confidence level. They both were good at teaching and did always their best for the sake of students.
The students of SMMSK had been phenomenal in both academics as well as extracurricular activities. Mostly I found 7th and 10th students very sharp at learning. There are many great students who are still desirous to learn their subjects in a unique way. I tried my best to groom them with my teaching and the techniques that I came up with for developing their analytical skills. I used to frame MCQ and Descriptive papers in different patterns for checking their factual knowledge and understanding of the topics that I had already taught. I also emphasized students to write in their own words so that they could forsake rote learning and that was my prime objective. It was de facto that students got much more addicted to appearing in such tests.
Though I am not working there, I still remember the name of many students in class 6th and class 10th. They made me proud when they did well in my papers. I was teaching them science but at the 9th and 10th levels, I was dealing with the chemistry portion as I loved to teach this subject. To be honest, the students of SMMSK are fond of learning science as a subject of interest.
Alhumdulilah, many students in 10th standard, boys as well as girls, who are determined to pass the matriculation with distinctions, I was continuously motivating them for doing such a new great thing of which their parents would feel proud. NEET is their destiny, and for that, they need to work very hard by leaps and bounds. I wish they all would choose a medical stream to get into the science field after passing the matriculation.
