Srinagar: Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhury Mohammed Iqbal on Tuesday visited different areas of Kupwara district including Lolab subdivision and took stock of agriculture scenario in the district. During the visit, he addressed a large gathering of farmers under Kisan Sampark Abhiyan at chogul Handwara.
While speaking to the farmers, the Director Agriculture marked the importance of integrated farming for the area. He asked the farmers that the geo-climatic conditions of the concerned area are suitably conducive for the adoption of integrated way of cultivation.
Chowdhury Iqbal assured the farming community of all possible technical guidance from the department. He asked the concerned offices to prepare DPRs for the implementation of various initiatives under Holistic Agriculture development program. He asked the farmers to come forward and take benefit from all approved projects under HADP. Amid prevailing weather conditions director agriculture asked the farmers to follow the guidance and advisories by the department. He directed the concerned officers to closely monitor the agriculture activities in the area.
The Director Agriculture also met a no of farmer delegations and took feedback from them regarding the implementation of different programs by the department.
