Discipline: The Mystery Of A Successful Life

“Success is created through the performance of a few small daily disciplines that stack up over time to produce achievements far beyond anything you could have ever planned for. Failure, on the other hand, is just as easy to slip into. Failure is nothing more than the inevitable outcome of a few small acts of daily neglect performed consistently over time so that they take you past the point of no return.” Robin Sharma
Almighty Allah has created this universe including all the creatures existing in it. Mankind is one of the creatures that has been given the highest status among all of them. Mankind is bestowed with willpower and the power of rationality and reason which enable it to differentiate between right and wrong, vice and virtue, blessing and curse, etc. That is why man is called AsharfulMakhlooqat i.e. the noblest of all creatures. The limited rather very short span of life is very important and every single moment of it needs to be utilised in the best possible way to make it successful and fruitful. We know that life is full of ups and downs, misfortunes, challenges, successes and failures. It sometimes seems like a bed of roses but at times it is very challenging. Every now and then new challenges surface and as a human we must face these challenges if we want to buffer and overcome them. Escaping from these challenges means we are a failure. We need to come out of our comfort zone and face them and only then we can overcome these challenges.
There are numerous ways to lead a successful life. To live a disciplined life is the most important and necessary way to a successful and purposeful life. It has been rightly said that life without discipline is like a ship without a radar. It is also said that freedom is our enemy, if we want to get things done, we need rules and these rules need to be followed properly and that is discipline. Discipline is a set of rules and regulations to be followed while performing an activity and we must acknowledge that a system is a good thing and rules help us to solve problems and get the most out of life. Similarly, each and every activity has its own rules and regulations for performing it, and for successful completion of the activity we have to follow those rules. We can not afford to escape from them.
There is a quote, “ Suffer the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret. “From this quote, it is obvious if we practice discipline in life we don’t have to regret rather we lead a successful life otherwise we have to suffer the pain of regret all through our life. Without discipline, life proves to be hard, purposeless, boring and full of challenges.
