Tehsildar Pampore hands over extra-gratia relief to lighting victims’ family

PAMPORE: Tehsildar Pampore Shakeel Ahmad on Sunday handed over a cheque of Rs 50,000 out of the District Red Cross Fund as immediate assistance to the family of a young man who along with his wife died on Saturday due to the lightning strike at Bujibagh village of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The young couple, Hilal Ahmad Hanji (25) son of Abdul Hamid and his wife Rozia Jan (21) died in a lightning incident when they were in the field.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Basharat Qayoom, Tehsilsar Pampore Shakeel Ahmad along with his team visited the bereaved family of deceased Hilal Ahmad Hanji, son of Abdul Hamid, and handed over the ex-gratia relief to the family.
“A cheque of Rs 50, 000 was presented to Abdul Hamid, father of the victim,” Tehsildar told Kashmir Reader. He also expressed condolence and sympathy to the bereaved family members.
