JAMMU: Director Youth Services & Sports (DYS&S) J&K Subash C Chibber along with Deputy Director Central Jatinder Mishra felicitated the runner-up team of 17th National Aerobic Gymnastics Championship here on Wednesday.
The championship was organized for senior category at Karnataka Bangalore. The J&K contingent comprised of 26 players which included 3 employee players of the Department of Youth Services & Sports Department won Silver medal in the Aerobic Group event.
Director YSS while expressing his congratulatory words to the team hoped that they would continue the spirit of taking part in such important sports events. While appreciating Kamal Singh, Honey Hehra, and Mayank Jain three senior employees of the YSS Department for being part of the runners-up contingent has said that Sports is for all and it should not be restricted to any specific age group.
“Sports can prove an important tool for improving the mental health of the employees. The levels of stress hormones, cortisol, and adrenaline are also reduced. Employees of various organizations and people, in general, should preferably take out some time from the daily routine for physical activities,” he added.
Jatinder Mishra also shared some words of encouragement with the team members and stated that encouraging employees to take up sports together fosters a sense of team spirit that could be reflected in how they get on during working hours.
Accounts Officer Sunil Sharma, SO Establishment Shivnandan Singh Mankotia and other senior officials of the Department also praised the team for their impressive performance.
