‘3657 students enrolled in Pulwama during ongoing enrollment drive’

CEO Pampore zone takes lead

Pampore: Education Department Zone Pampore organised a function on community mobilization cum enrollment drive at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Pampore.
Chief Education Officer Pulwama Abdul Qayoom Nadvi was the chief guest on the occasion, while DEPO Pulwama Manzoor Ahmad Khan was the guest of honour.
The function was attended by Zonal Education Officer Abdul Rashid Telli, Principal GHSC Nazir Ahmad, Principal BHSS Pampore Mushtaq Ahmad, Zonal Physical Education Officer Masarat Hussain Andrabi and all executive members of JKTF district Pulwama.
A number of lecturers, teachers and students of the Girls Higher Secondary school Pampore also took part, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Chief Education Officer Abdul Qayoom Nadvi, DEPO Pulwama Manzoor Ahmad Khan, ZEO Pampore Abdul Rashid Telli, and Zonal President Wani Bilal Ahmad explored the importance of community mobilisation and the role of teachers.
The successful enrolment drive was felt as the need of the hour with the hope that all odds along the path be neutralised and the promise and hope of parents be given a special corner. The mega enrolment drive was supported and encouraged by the general mass in view of the best and free facilities in the government schools.
District President JKTF Pulwama Abdul Hamid Trumboo thanked CEO Pulwama Abdul Qayoom Nadvi, DEPO Pulwama Manzoor Ahmad Khan, ZEO Pampore Abdul Rasheed, Principal GHSS Principal BHSS Mushtaq Ahmad and all the officers from the CEO Office Pulwama, and other teachers who contributed and attended the mega enrollment car rally held on Friday at Pampore areas.
Of the eight education zones in the Pulwama district, the Pampore zone has taken a lead in the ongoing enrollment drive by government schools.
“The new admissions will reach up to 1000,” ZEO Pampore told Kashmir Reader, adding that so far more than 700 have been enrolled.
Talking to Kashmir Reader Chief Education Officer Pulwama, Abdul Qayoom Nadvi said that they target to admit around 10,000 students into government schools during the ongoing Enrollment drive.
He said that the drive is in progress for 15 days. “We have registered around 3657 new admissions,” he said, adding the good thing about the enrollment drive is that a good number of students are moving from private to government schools.
He said that the government all modern facilities and highly qualified staff.
“There was a propaganda that government schools don’t work and this needs to be challenged,” he said, adding that government schools provide the best education.
He appealed to parents to admit their wards in government which have all modern facilities in terms of infrastructure and staff.
“The higher secondary from which have been promoted has developed a library for Rs 40 lakh which is not seen in the private sector,” he said.
He added that education is a priority for the government and LG wishes to take it to new heights.
