Founder and innovator of the KIPL, Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Reshi, Assistant Professor (Animal Nutrition), Mounatin Livestock Research Institute explained the novelty of his product and its role in boosting, meat and reproductive performances in cattle.

“The product is based on a decade long research studies by the Division of Animal Nutrition, SKUAST-K on the mineral profiling of available feeds/fodders for livestock and contains specifically the mineral elements deficient in our soil, grasses feed and fodder causing poor production of milk meat and reproduction,” Dr Reshi said.

“Based on such studies we have fortified our product with the deficient minerals and we sure that it will correct the mineral deficiencies in our animals and will boost their production performances” he added.

He also said that the product (Region and species specific mineral supplement) costs less and has assurances of quality, adding in the first phase they have covered dairy cattle when a special product for sheep and poultry shall follow. “Different species have different requirements of minerals therefore we will cover all one by one, this time for cattle next will be sheep and poultry” he said.

Co-founder of the startup Dr Gowher Gull Shiekh said, “We have mainly copper, phosphorus and zinc deficient in our feeds and fodders that are very essential for animals to exploit their production potential and KashMin supplementation will revolutionize our dairy industry.”
