PAMPORE: A 45-year-old labourer died on Saturday after a wall collapsed at a cement factory in the Khrew area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Mohammad Ashraf Chopan, son of Abdul Gani, a resident of Khrew Pampore was seriously injured when he came under the wall of the Max Cement factory in Khrew. Soon after the incident, a police team led by SHO Manzoor Ahmad reached the spot and shifted the injured to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival, locals said.
Police officials told Kashmir Reader that Mohammad Ashraf Chopan died in an accident at Khrew when he was working inside a Max Cement factory.
“Ashraf along with other persons were dismantling a wall around a Max cement factory in Khrew. The wall collapsed accidentally and he came under it,” the SHO Khrew said, adding that the labourer was immediately retrieved from the debris and shifted to the sub-district hospital Pampore by police and his co-workers where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
The body was handed over to the deceased’s heirs for last rites.
