Training prog held at SKUAST-K

Srinagar: An orientation-cum-training programme on “Human Resource Development for Technological Backstoping for Sustainable and Accelerated Transformation of Agriculture” was held on Tuesday at the Directorate of Research, SKUAST-Kashmir under the chairmanship of Prof. Sarfaraz A. Wani, Director Research, SKUAST-Kashmir.
The programme was attended by Prof. Masood Salem Mir, Associate Director Extension (AS), Dr. M. Anwar Bhat, Prof-cum-Chief Scientist (Agronomy), Directorate of Extension, District Officers of Agriculture Department and Scientists from KVKs. The Director Research in his inaugural address expressed his views on the importance of the project. He highlighted the objectives of the project in terms of government support to education and research in agriculture universities for attracting the young generation towards agricultural education.
In addition to this such projects will help in the infrastructure development for productive, effective and translative research. Prof. Azmat Alam Khan, OSD, HVC while delivering his presentation on “Human Resource Development for Technological Backstoping for Sustainable and Accelerated Transformation of Agriculture” highlighted the provision for scholarships to be provided to all enrolled PG and Ph.D students who are not in receipt of ICAR/CSIR/ICMR Scholarship/Fellowships.
Prof. Nasir Ahmad Dar, Nodal Officer and Dr. Irfan Bisati, (Associated Scientist) conducted the proceedings of the session. The presentation was followed by interaction/feedback session by the participants.
