7 skill progs on livestock, poultry management conclude at SKUAST-K

Srinagar: Valedictory function of a series of seven skill development training programmes of one-week duration on different aspects of livestock, layer production, broiler production, marketing of poultry and hatchery management practices was held at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Shuhama campus.
The SKUAST-K’s Division of Livestock Production & Management, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry organised the skill trainings under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME).
SKUAST-K’s Director Planning & Monitoring Prof Haroon Rashid Naik, who chaired the valedictory function, encouraged the participants to take livestock, poultry and hatchery as an enterprise as there is ample scope in this sector for entrepreneurship development and job creation. Dean, FVSc&AH, Prof MT Banday stressed the participants to take livestock and poultry as an enterprise for their livelihood and income generation.
Head Division of LPM and coordinator of the training programmes, Prof IU Sheikh, presented a brief overview of the series of trainings. He appraised that the training programmes were attended by a diverse group of participants from different areas in and around the Ganderbal district. He also thanked MSME, GoI, for sponsoring the training programmes.
Associate Director Research & OSD to Vice Chancellor, Prof Azmat Alam Khan, elaborated on the benefits of various MSME training programmes. The participants were provided hands-on training on various aspects of livestock, layer production, broiler production, marketing of poultry and hatchery management practices.
