UT level training on holistic agri dev prog concludes at Jammu

Atal Dullo stresses on capacity building programmes

Jammu: The three-day UT-level training on Holistic Agriculture development programme concluded at convention centre Jammu. The event was inaugurated by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir UT Manoj Sinha.
It is pertinent to mention here that the administrative council under the chairmanship of Honorable lieutenant Governor accorded administrative approval to the implementation of 29 Project proposals recommended by the UT level apex committee for the holistic development of Agriculture and allied sector in UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the three day event convention centre Jammu, presentations were given by the chairman, members of technical working group from agriculture and allied sectors. The trainings were given to the scientists of SKUAST-K and SKUAST-J and officers of Agriculture and allied sectors including Horticulture, Sericulture, Apiculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Poultry, Fisheries, etc.
While addressing the concluding session of the three day event, the financial commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) agriculture production and farmers’ welfare department Atal Dullo said that the main purpose of the three day programme is to prepare for the successful implementation of these 29 projects under Holistic development of agriculture sector. He highlighted the importance of capacity building among the officers. He asked the officers of allied departments to work in coordination so that the desired results under different projects could be achieved.
Dullo said the crux of different projects were presented before the stakeholders during this three day event so that they could understand the interventions that have been taken under these 29 approved projects for the holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors. The Financial commissioner asked the participants to go through the details of all these 29 approved projects and contribute to their successful implementation.
Atal Dullo said that similar orientation programs will be held at divisional levels at Jammu and Srinagar and the trainings on each of these 29 approved projects will be given to the concerned resource persons at district levels in first phase while as in the next phase the awareness will be given to the farmers of the UT regarding the benefits under these 29 projects at block, district levels.
The event was attended by Secretary Agriculture, production department , vice Chancellor SKUAST-J, vice chancellor SKUAST- K, special secretary Horticulture, Director Agriculture Jammu, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Director Sheep Husbandry, Director Horticulture, Director Fisheries, MD JKAGROS, MD JKHPMC and HODs, scientist of SKUAST-K and SKUAST-J and all the senior officers of the agriculture and allied department.
