Friendly badminton match for civil, uniformed officials held at GDC Pampore

PAMPORE: District Pulwama Badminton Association organised a friendly game between police and civil administration officials on Sunday which was played at Indoor Sports Hall Government Degree College Pampore.
The game saw the police team led by SDPO Pampore, Mir Imtiyaz beat the civil administration team led by BMO Rajpora, Dr Javaid Ahmad Bhat.
Besides SDPO Pampore and BMO Rajpora, the match was witnessed by Tehsildar Pampore Zuber Ahmad Bhat, Tehsildar Pattan Saqib Ahmad, Incharge Fire & Emergency Services Department Pampore Nisar Ahmad Thoker, Spectrum head, civil society member Haji Abdul Rasheed Bhat and Badminton Association District Pulwama members Mir Murwat Hussain, Irfan Shah and Aadil Bhat.
Spectrum head Haji Abdul Rashid Bhat commended the organisers for conducting such programmes. “Sports play a great role in the overall development of the youth and keep them away from drugs. It is my pleasure to contribute my little bit to the promotion of sports like badminton in our district,” Rashid told Kashmir Reader.
Mir Murwat Hussain, President Badminton Association Pulwama hailed the participants, especially the civil society member Haji Abdul Rashid Bhat, for his support for the promotion of the game in the district.
“Rashid sahib has always provided his support to the organisers and the players. I am extremely thankful to him and I am sure his support will help us in boosting the morale of the players as they look to participate in the nationals,” Murawat said.
Mohammad Irfan Shah, Vice Chairman Badminton Association and General Secretary Badminton Association Pulwama, on the occasion, said, “Badminton is getting popular with each passing day owing to the fact a lot of people are coming forward to contribute their bit in different capacities. I am thankful to SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad and Abdul Rashid Bhat for their support and their assurances that they will provide whatever support they can in helping players to participate at the national level.”
