Hajin: Kaka XI Sumbal defeated Gazi XI Hakbara by seven wickets to lift the first Hajin Premier League played at the sports ground here on Thursday.
Batting first, Gazi XI Hakbara posted a score of 140 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Mudasir Dar was the top scorer for Gazi XI with 46 runs. For Kaka XI Sumbal, Mohammad Farooq was the pick of the bowlers who took 3 wickets for his team.
Kaka XI Sumbal chased the target within 13 overs by losing only three wickets thus winning the final by 7 wickets. Aijaz Ahmad was the top scorer with 75 runs and was adjudged Man of the Match for his brilliant batting performance.
The winners of HPL-2022 were rewarded Rs 80,000 cash prize and a trophy, while the runner-up team was awarded with Rs 40,000 cash prize and a trophy.
The Man of the Tournament Mudasir Ahmad Dar was awarded Rs 10,000, while Man of the Match Aijaz Ahmad got 2,000 rupees along with a trophy.
The final was witnessed by a huge crowd who cheered for their favourite players.
Meanwhile, Irshad Wani, Chairman Municipal Committee Hajin was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed prizes among the winning and losing teams. The chief organisers of the tournament were Rahil Gowhar and Naseer Ahmad.
