Tehsildar Pampore visits remote Gujjar village Pampore

PAMPORE: Tehsildar Pampore Zubair Ahmad Bhat on Sunday organised a Block Diwas at Gujjar Basti, Batdalaw village of Pampore.
Batdalow is a remote village located in the forest area of Wasturwan mountain.
The locals appreciated the move and hoped that their grievances would find a durable solution and the sufferings of the people with minimal facilities would be mitigated.
” Our locality consumes minimum power supply as it is used just for lighting purposes but the power bills to the villagers are exorbitant and need to be kept minimal,” said a local while talking to Kashmir Reader, adding for heating and cooking purposes we use firewood.
He said that the bills sent to the households in the village were at par with areas which consume greater units of power.
They demanded that the issue needed to be addressed immediately so that they could get relief from undue charges.
Deputy Sarpanch of the Gujjar Basti told Kashmir Reader that the village be connected by a macadamised road and the households in the village be provided with solar lights.
DDC member Pampore Tazima Akhtar thanked the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary, Tehsildar Pampore Zubair Ahmad Bhat and hoped that the issues that have been raised by the villagers be redressed as soon as possible.
The issues need speedy redressal so that the people residing in these villages can be par with other villages of the tehsil.
Taking to Kashmir Reader Tehsildar Pampore Zubair Ahmad Bhat said that he addressed certain issues that were concerning the locals and those which needed attention and time were referred to the line departments.
He further said that they also awarded people about online services that the residents could avail from their homes.
Earlier, Tehsildar Pampore Zubair Ahmad Bhat Welcomed by a huge gathering and various delegations during the Block Diwas event at Gujjar Basti Batdalaw where large delegations had arrived to share and solve problems being faced by the people in the village and adjoining areas.
Among others the public darbar was attended by DDC Pampore Tazima Akhtar, BDO Pampore Mohammad Ashraf, Tehsil Official Mir Murwat Hussain, Pro Mohammad Iqbal, Sheep Husbandry officer Atifa Malik, besides other officials and all line department also present on the occasion.
During the the darbar people of the Gujjar Basti apprised the Tehsildar Pampore Zubair Ahmad Bhat about various issues and demands related to uninterrupted supply of electricity, adequate drinking water supply facilities, better health and education facilities, and other issues of Forest horticulture schemes and other demands of public importance.
Tehsildar Pampore along with DDC Pampore Tazima Akhtar, BDO Pampore, Mir Murwat Hussain and others distributed sport kits among dozens of cricketers of Pampore Tehsil.
