SRINAGAR: KVK Pulwama kick started two seven days STRY training programmes today on 20th of December,2022 for skill development of rural youth. The title of one training is “Nursery Raising of Temperate Fruit Corps for livelihood upliftment of rural youth”whose course coordinator is Dr. Jahangeer Ahmad Baba (Asstt.Porfessor; Fruit Science) and the title of second training programme is“Agroforesty for sustainable livelihood for rural youth”for which course coordinator isDr.Gowher Nabi Parray (Asstt. Professor; Agro- Forestry). These programmes are meant for employment generation of rural youth and school dropouts in organizations associated with SAMETI and MANAGE Hyderabad.
The programme was attended by Dr. Javeed Ahmad Mugloo,Prof. & Head,KVK/ETC, Malangpora,Pulwama,Scientists of KVK and 56 participants.Prof&Head,Dr. Javeed Ahmad Mugloo in his inaugural speech highlighted the importance of skill oriented trainings for rural youth and school dropouts to become job providers instead of job seekers. He impressed upon the participants to upscale their skill with latest technology and technical know- how, inorder to pave way for employment generation not only for themselves butalso for others. The course coordinator of two programmes Dr. Jahangeer Ah. Baba & Dr. Gowhar Nabi Parray during their overview lectures gave comprehensive information of the respective programmes and informed participants about the various lectures that will be delivered by both KVK scientists and experts from other faculties of SKUAST. The inaugural ceremony was concluded by vote of thanks.
