Wildlife officials launched search operation in Ladhoo village after leopard attack 

PAMPORE: After a leopard attacked a Bakerwal family and injured four of the members, the Wildlife department Range Khrew on Saturday launched a search operation to catch the leopard.
The searches were carried out at Batpora area of Ladhoo village of Pampore Tehsil in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Wildlife department Range Khrew led by Ranger Khrew Khursheed Ahmad launched a massive search operation at Ladoo village of Pampore , officials told Kashmir Reader.
He said they received three informations from locals regarding the presence of the leopard in Ladhoo and Khrew area and a wild bear presence at Andrusoo Pampore, a team of wildlife experts immediately rushed to the spots with tranquiliser guns to capture the leopard and bear.
He said that a cage has been installed.
We are hopeful that the wild animals will be captured soon.
The Wildlife officials advised people of the area to cooperate with them and follow the already issued advisory.

Talking to Kashmir Reader Wildlife Ranger Khrew Khursheed Ahmad said that a massive hunt has been launched by them.
” After we got the information of the incident a team was constituted which reached the spot and started the search operation, we installed a cage with a dog as bait,” he said, adding that two other teams are also working, one in Khrew and other at Andrusoo villages of Pampore.
He told Kashmir Reader that a leopard is roaming in the Khrew area and a black bear in Andrusoo village.
He appealed to people of these areas to be vigilant and follow the advisory already issued.
He appealed to villagers of these areas for not letting them out of homes during early morning and evening.
He also advised villagers not to venture to their fields alone but in groups.
On the intervening night of Thursday and Friday a leopard attacked and injured 4 family members including a 4 year old Zahid Khan, his father, Zakir Khan, mother Shaheena Akhter and his 75 year old grandfather Mehmood Khan.
