Ten-day Architectural Tour of IUST students to Chandigarh-Amritsar Circuit concluded

Awantipora: The Ten-day Architectural Tour of the students from the School of Architecture and Planning, IUST concluded. Twenty-three students from the Institution started the tour from Srinagar on November 9, 2022, and visited the Chandigarh-Amritsar circuit.
The tour exposed the visiting students to modern as well as the medieval architectural heritage of the Punjab province of India and gave them an opportunity to experience the modern architectural legacy created by famous Architects like Le-Corbusier and Moshe Safdie in Chandigarh and Anandpur Sahib as well as the medieval heritage in Kapurthala and Amritsar. The group was accompanied by two faculty members.
The students visited multiple sites of architectural importance during the tour that include the first modern city of independent India, Chandigarh, the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh, the College of Architecture, and Punjab University. They also visited many museums, and places of architectural importance, that include Virasat-e-Khalsa museum, Gurudwara in Anandpur Sahib, Moorish Mosque in Kapurthala, and Golden Temple and Gobindgarh Fort in Amritsar. The students also took a heritage walk in Amritsar, which was conducted by the Amritsar Foundation.
