PAMPORE: The five day District Pulwama Badminton Championship concluded at Indoor Hall Government Degree College Pampore on Monday.
Around 350 boys and girls from various parts of district Pulwama participated in various age groups, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Principal GDC Pampore Dr Huda Galzai who was the chief guest of the function distributed prizes among the winners while as President, KCCI Tariq Ghani, district Badminton President Mir Murwat Hussain Mir and Social Activist Bhat Musadiq Reyaz were the guests of honours on the closing ceremony.
Shariya Manzoor won women singles final while as runner-up was Irtiqa.
Women doubles were won by winner Shariya and Mehreen defeating Insha and Irtiqa.
In girls under 19 category,Simridhi Koul emerges victorious Pakeeza Bashir bagged second spot.
For senior mixed finals the winners were Owais Dar and Mehreen and runner up were Inayat Hussain and Shaista.
Owais Dar won Men’s singles final and Faizan ended up as runner-up where as Faizan and Owais won Men’s double final event while as Zahid Bashir and Bhat nimmer ended up runner up for the same event.
In boy’s under 19 Rohnit Koul won the final and runner-up was Malik Aalam.
In Boy’s category U- 17 singles the winner was Iftisam sajad and runner-up was Malik Huzaif.
For Boys under 17 doubles the winners were Izhar and Wamiq and runner-up were Arooj and Asim.
The event was organised by District Badminton Association Pulwama which is Associated with Jammu and Kashmir Badminton Association.
