One-day seminar on NEP-2020 held at South Campus KU

Srinagar: A one-day national seminar on “Reflection on NEP-2020” was held at Kashmir University’s South Campus.
The national seminar was organised by the Department of Education.
Dean Academic Affairs Prof Farooq Ahmad Masoodi was the chief guest at the inaugural session and stressed on the need to analyze different dimensions of NEP-2020 relating to offering multi-disciplinary programmes.
Prof Tasleema Jan, Head, Department of Education KU, who was the guest of honour, highlighted the role of NEP-2020 in bringing reforms in the education sector.
In his inaugural address, Director South Campus Dr Mukhtar Ahmad Khanday termed the seminar as an opportunity to explore and understand the impact and challenges of the New Educational Policy. He congratulated Academic Coordinator, Department of Education, South Campus, Moomin Jan, for organising the seminar and stressed upon the need to achieve the objectives of NEP-2020.
The seminar included views by eminent resource persons including Prof Syed Zahoor Ahmad Geelani, Dean and Head, School Of Education, Central University of Kashmir; Prof Abid Siddqui, Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University and Mr Bilal Ahmad Kaloo, Department of Teacher Education, North Campus, KU.
Ms Moomin Jan delivered the welcome address and also highlighted the need for organising such seminars. He termed NEP-2020 as a “watershed” in the country’s educational reforms.
Dr Uzma Jan conducted the proceedings of the seminar and Dr M Z Rafiqi delivered the formal vote of thanks.
