Sumbal: Department of chemistry, Govt. Degree College Sumbal organized a one-day seminar for science students on the theme “Green Chemistry as Solution” on Monday..
The seminar was organized in view to provide the knowledge of recent developments in the newly emerged subject of Green Chemistry, which is providing the befitting solution to the eradication of all the hazardous substances.
The invited speakers of the event were Prof. (Dr.) Javeed Iqbal Ahmad Bhat, professor cum chief scientist, division of Environmental Sciences from SKAUST-K and Dr. Fasil Qayoom Mir, Associate professor in Chemical Engineering Department from NIT Srinagar.

welcome address was immediately followed by the opening remarks about the program by the staff secretary of the college Dr. Mehraj-u-din Parray.
On the occasion, Principal Madam Prof. (Dr.) Shabeena Iqbal Shawl gave the presidential address, in her address, she also gave a gist of green chemistry. Both the speakers of the event talked extensively on the assigned theme and all the students participated actively in the question answer session.
The invited speakers also praised the discipline, hospitality and protocol of this Institution. All the faculty members of the Institution attended the program. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Wilayat Bashir and the program was moderated by Dr. Riffat Basharat.
