Inaugurates ‘Employment Mela’ at Chersoo, Awantipora under B2V4

PULWAMA: Continuing its efforts to bring Govt services at the door steps of people under Govt’s ambitious Back to Village-4 programme, the District Administration Pulwama in collaboration with District Industries Centre today organised a mega Job fair at Chersoo, Awantipora.
The ‘Rozgar Mela’ was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr Baseer ul Haq Chowdary in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioners’ of Pulwama, Awantipora and other district officers.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that the Government is trying its level best to provide best skilling and employment opportunities to the youth through various schemes. He emphasized that educated youth should come forward and take benefits of the schemes and programmes.
He urged stakeholders for full cooperation and to generate awareness about Govt schemes in the larger interest of the unemployed youth of the district. He added that Pulwama is leading the way towards Youth led development besides the active participation of youth in the decision making process of the government.
Employment Officer, District Employment and Counseling Centre (DE&CC) Pulwama, Junaid Ahmad Malla spoke about the recent initiatives of Mission Youth, J&K in the area of self-employment like MUMKIN, TEJASWINI, Spurring Entrepreneurship, Rise Together-Community Entrepreneurship and SAHAYTA.
He also impressed upon the audience to register on the employment portal of Government of Jammu and Kashmir (www.jakemp.nic.in) developed to bring Job Seekers and Job Providers on a common platform.
Later, the DC inspected various stalls set up by line departments including the Department of Horticulture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Khadi and Village Industries, District Industries Centre, Handloom and Floriculture.
The DC handed over sanction letters to 7 out of 10 job aspirants to establish their own business units.
During the fair, several unemployed educated youth registered themselves with different departments.
PRI members, prominent citizens and a large number of youth participated in the programme.
