Plantation drive held at Court Complex Pampore

PAMPORE: A Plantation drive was held at Munsif Court, Pampore under the supervision of Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Pampore Junaid Imtiyaz Mir (KCS Judicial) and District Forest Officer Awantipora Waseem Farooq on Tuesday.
Tehsil Legal Services Committee Pampore in collaboration with Forest Department Model Range Pampore, Forest Division Awantipora organised a Plantation drive, under the ongoing Jan Abhiyan initiative in premises of Munsif Court Pampore.
On the occasion, Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Junaid Imtiyaz Mir, Assistant Public Prosecutor Pampore Najam U Nissa, DFO Waseem Farooq, Range Officer Pampore Ishfaq Hussain, Bar Association President Adv Ajaz Ahmad Khan, Chief Organiser Fallah Behboob Committee Pampore Mir Murwat Hussian, Range Officer Pampore Ishfaq Hussain, Naib Tehsildar Pampore Javaid Ahmad, Senior Adv Bashir Ahmad Malik, Adv Tasaduq Farooq and other forest officials planted saplings and encouraged others to do the same.
They marked the saplings with their name plates.
Range Clerk Pampore Iliyas Rasool Lone, Bar Association Pampore members, forest officials and employees of Model Range Pampore and others were present on the occasion.

The drive was jointly organised by Tehsil Legal Services Committee Pampore and forest department range Pampore at court complex Pampore, officials told Kashmir Reader.
“Everybody is well aware that how much green cover has dwindled, when forest department approached us for today’s plantation drive we readily accepted it,” Judicial Magistrate Muncif Court Pampore Junaid Imtiyaz Mir told Kashmir Reader, adding that they want to send a message to the department and other departments that it is not the responsibility of forest department only to plant trees but every department and every person should take responsibility of planting the trees.
He said that trees will play an important role in helping people to fight of global warming and protecting the planet.
He appreciated DFO Awantipora, other employees, senior officers and Bar Association Pampore for providing full cooperation to make the plantation drive successful.
District Forest Officer (DFO) Awantipora Waseem Farooq told Kashmir Reader that the winter plantation drive was held in the premises of judicial magistrate Pampore.
” Under Jan Abhiyaan the flagship programme of the forest department is Jammu and Kashmir green drive,” he said, adding that they will be planting around 2.5 lakh plants in Pulwama.
He said that under forest outreach they will coordinate with other departments and people to increase green cover.
He said that by involving people in the plantation drive they want to increase 60 per cent cover in Jammu and Kashmir.
