Srinagar: PM Kisan Samman Samailan was organized by Directorate of Extension, SKUAST Kashmir on . The Programme was participated by Scientists of the Directorate of Extension. Progressive farmers from length and breadth of the valley were invited in the Directorate itself.
The participants included more than fifty farmers from Leh and Zanskar and about thirty women farmers from different districts of the valley.Director Extension Prof. Dil Mohmmad Makdoomi Chaired the event. At the outset of the event Prof Purshotam Singh formally welcomed the farmers and elaborated the attendees about the importance of the event.
The attendees listened to the speech of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India in virtual mode. After culmination of PMS speech, Worthy Director Extension, elaborated various services Directorate of Extension and KVKs in different districts are rendering for the upliftment of farming community of Kashmir as well as ladakh. The participating farmers interacted and raised various issues they came across from day to day life related to agriculture and allied sectors and were satisfactorily replied by concerned scientists.
Farmers were also taken for an exposure visit to have the glimpses of various technologies on research farms in Shalimar. It is worth mentioning that Kissan Samman Samelan was celebrated in all the KVKs of Kashmir and Ladakh stationed in every district in collaboration with development departments of Kashmir and Ladakh. It is pertinent to mention that Kissan Samman Samelan and speech of Hon’ble Prime Minister was echoed in every part of India.
