5 TB patients adopted under PM TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan by SDH Pampore

PAMPORE: Sub district hospital Pampore adopted five Tuberculosis patients during the programme launched at SDH Pampore under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, distributed food items to TB patients.
During the occasion Block Medical Officer Pampore Dr Asima Nazir, Medical officer SDH Pampore Dr Bilal Ahmad and other health officials were present.
Taking to Kashmir Reader Block Medical Officer Pampore Dr Asima told that they have directions for providing incentives to active
Tuberculosis (TB) patients like nutritional support and vocational support.
She said that some active Tuberculosis patients were invited at Sub district hospital Pampore and to encourage them they were provided with incentive.
“This incentive as a token of love was provided to them for giving emotional support,” she said.
Under Nutritional programme, a monthly food basket comprising three kg of rice, 1.5 kg of pulses, 250 grams of vegetable cooking oil and one kg of milk powder or six litres of milk or one kg of groundnut has been recommended for each tuberculosis patient.
Medical Officer SDH Pampore Dr Bilal told Kashmir Reader that they have adopted five Tuberculosis patients for six months under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
“He said that they provide them an incentive worth rupees five hundred per head in kind,” he said.
He added that in coming days they will look to adopt more TB patients.
‘Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ was launched by President Droupadi Murmu on September 9 with an aim to eliminate the disease five years ahead of the SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) target of 2030.
The government aims to ensure the adoption of all consented TB patients by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17.
