Awantipora: Jammu University won the first prize followed by Islamic University of Science and Technology(IUST) while as both NIT Srinagar and Cluster University Srinagar put the joint show for third reward in the 1st J&K Chancellor’s Athletic Meet which concluded here at IUST on Wednesday.
Men and women athletes, from various universities of J&K ensured their participation in the much celebrated tournament, putting up a great show of enthusiasm and dedication towards sports.
Felicitating the winners, Vice Chancellor Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, also the chief guest of the event, applauded the sportsman spirit of athletes and the efforts of Physical Education department, organising the event.
In his concluding remarks, while thanking the participants and their respective universities, he stressed on the university’s objective to spearhead the novel initiatives and opportunities for students and youth, noting that the IUST is determined to broaden the scope and talent of students to help them excel in different fields of life.
Earlier, Dr. Hilal Ahmad Rather, Assistant Director Physical Education & Sports welcomed the guests and thanked all the participants and officials for being the part of 1st J&K Chancellor’s Athletic Meet Men & Women 2022.
