Riyaan wins Gold medal in National Sqay Championship at Haryana

PAMPORE: Riyaan Rouf of Pampore has bagged gold medal in junior category in North India Sqay Championship held in Sonipat Haryana earlier this week.
Riyaan Rouf 10th class student of Salfia model school Pampore, started Sqay when he was just six year old and since then he has participated in different championships at state and national level.
The young Sqay player has won four gold medals at National level.
“Recently I won Gold medal in North Indian Championship in Haryana,” Rouf Riyaan told Kashmir Reader, adding that he already have been Indian Championship for 2022.
He said that he has been selected for Asian Championship.
” I will give my best to win gold medal in the Asian Championship,” he said, adding he been playing this game since 2014.
He told Kashmir Reader that he has been immensely supported by his parents and adding that his younger brother is also learning the game and he too is supported by the parents.
He believes that with academics, sports are important and taken seriously as carrier options by youth in Kashmir these days.
The Sqay championship was organized by Sqay Association of Haryana.
