DC Kulgam inaugurates 3 days orientation, training programme for 500 resources persons

KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 02: In order to make Nasha Mukt campaign effective and result oriented, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today inaugurated three days orientation cum training programme for resources persons at mini secretariat, here.
The programme is a joint initiative of the District Administration, Rural Development Department, Social Welfare, Education, Health and other Departments.
During the training programme, the participants were briefed about various sections of NDPS and their role vis-à-vis sensitizing masses against the ill effects of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that 65 percent population of the district comprises youth and our ultimate goal is to proper utilization of their energies, capacities which is also vital to make a prosperous society.
He stated that there is a steep rise in use of drugs in the district and termed it unfortunate and added that collectively we have to eradicate this menace by waging war against this menace.
With regard to the orientation cum training programme, the DC said that the aim of organizing this training programme is to develop well trained and well acquainted human resources to make the campaign against drugs effective and result oriented by utilizing their services properly in ongoing month long campaigns against drugs.
He added that 500 persons will be trained in this three days training session and their services will be utilized across the district.
ADC, ACD, DSWO, Tehsildar Hq, SHO and other officers also attended the programme.
Meanwhile, awareness programmes and rallies under the month-long campaign against drugs were held in colleges, schools and other institutions of the district.
