Shariya wins gold madel in MMA Championship

PAMPORE: Shariya Manzoor of Pulwama has won gold medal in the Mixed Martial Art Championship held recently in New Delhi.
In the final Shariya defeated her opponent from Tamil Nadu.
The three day long Championship was held at Dwarka New Delhi from 29th July.
20 year old Shariya is playing the game since 2015 and since then she has participated in different national level Championships and state events.
She faced all odds and has earned a name in the field of sports through her achievements.
So far she had won nine gold medals in different national championships.
She claimed that She has received young leadership award by LG Manoj Sinha last year at SKICC Srinagar.
Shariya Manzoor credited her success to her parents who supported her at every step. She also expressed gratitude to coach Faisal Nazir who trained her.
“I am thankful to the Jammu and Kashmir Association Mixed Martial Art for giving me the chance to represent my country at the mixed martial art national Championship,” she said.
Shariya Manzoor was also selected for International Thai Boxing Championship will be held in Dubai on 11 August this year. However, she couldn’t participate due to lack of finances.
“I found no sponsorship and am very upset for missing Thai boxing Championship,” She said.
MMA Championship organiser Manish Kumar from New Delhi told Kashmir Reader that Shariya Manzoor won Gold in Amateur MMA Championship.
He said that Open Delhi MMA Amateur Championship at Dwarka, was organised by Mixed Martial arts Federation.
