Srinagar: PHDCCI-Kashmir organized a free Health Camp In association with the Directorate of Ayush, Jammu and Kashmir at Palpora Noorbagh Qamarwari. The camp was organized, in an effort to provide basic medical facilities to the poor people. Besides free medical check-ups, medicines were also provided to the people free of cost. More than 250 low-income and marginalized workers of different localities from around the neighbourhood of Palpora Qamarwari were screened by doctors. The Free health check-up camp was conducted by Dr Hamid Sofi – Medical Officer – Directorate of AYUSH J&K and Dr Qurat ul Ain. The Camp was launched by Mr Vicky Shaw Co-Chair PHDCCI along with Volunteers of Madad Welfare Trust and Deputy Director PHDCCI-Kashmir.
Speaking on the Occasion the Co-Chair PHDCCI-Kashmir Mr Vicky Shaw said that the camp is being organized to create awareness about the fact that health is a human right and everyone should have access to the right care at the right time. Throughout the camp, specialists, lady doctors and free medicine will be available at the camp for free consultation and we have decided to do the follow-up camps at the same locations. He further said that by working towards social responsibility and humanity the PHDCCI had made this attempt to take healthcare to the doorsteps of those populations for whom taking care of one’s health is secondary. These are people who work day in and day out to provide their families a better living. Through this health check-up camp, we intend to encourage these people to undergo preventive health check-ups so as to avoid any untoward health scare. The PHDCCI has collaborated with Madad Welfare Trust whose Volunteers has been actively engaged in providing medical aid for the treatment of patients from marginalized and economically backward sections of the society in various downtrodden Society of Kashmir. We as PHDCCI-Kashmir have decided that we will be continuously organising free medical camps to cater the health needs of the underprivileged segment of society.
Further more than 250 patients were benefited and simultaneously many were screened for Diabetes and Hypertension. Those found diabetic and hypertensive were counselled and treated with appropriate medicines by Ayush Team.
