DHS Shopian organises training programme on HMIS

SHOPIAN: The District Health Society (DHS) Shopian organized a daylong training programme on Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) at ANMT School Shopian, here.
The training programme was chaired by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Shopian, Dr Arshad Hussain Tak and was attended by District Immunization Officer Shopian, Dr Showkat; MS, BMOs, Doctors and paramedics of the district.
Health Management Information System (HMIS) is a document management system for medical institutions that combines a medical decision-making support system, electronic medical records of patients, and digital medical data.
The programme was aimed to train Doctors and Para-Medical Staff for switching over from manual data recording of patients to Hospital Management Information System (HMIS).
The training was imparted by master trainer HMIS Vijay from Jevotech.
Speaking on the occasion CMO said that the HMIS makes improved patient care possible and reduces the work of documentation.
Addressing the Participants, CMO Shopian said that HMIS is a computer based system that helps manage the information related to health care effectively. He said HMIS provides a solution for the complications coming from managing all the paperwork of every patient associated with the various departments of hospitalization with confidentiality.
CMO appreciated the role of DPM and DMEO Shopian for organizing and providing logistics support for the training.
