Woman dies, two CRPF men injured in two separate accidents in Awantipora

AWANTIPORA: An elder woman was killed and two CRPF personnel were injured in two separate road accidents in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said on Saturday.
Officials told Kashmir Reader that a vehicle bearing registration number JK04D-9973 driven by Aadil Shafi son of Mohammad Shafi Ganaie, resident of Chadoora, Budgam hit one pedestrian old aged lady Aasha Begum wife of Assad Ullah Kuchay, resident of Barsoo near Goripora Crossing Barsoo.
Soon after the accident, locals of nearby area and police Awantipora rushed to the spot and shifted the injured woman to Sub District Hospital Pampore for treatment, where doctors declared her brought dead.
SHO Awantipora Mohammad Younis Khan told Kashmir Reader.
He said that the driver of the vehicle was arrested and the vehicle involved in the accident seized.
A FIR has been registered at police station Awantipora.
Meanwhile, two Central Reserve Police Force personnel have been injured in a road accident on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway near Awantipora.
SHO Awantipora Mohammad Younis Khan told Kashmir Reader that the accident occurred on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in Barsoo near Goripora Crossing area of Awantipora.
“A collision between a truck and an armoured vehicle of CRPF resulted in injuries to two head Constables of the Central Reserve Police Force,” he said, adding the injured were shifted to Public Health Centre Awantipora where doctors referred them to Srinagar for specialised treatment.
