Director Agriculture reviews drought mitigation measures taken by the Department

Anantnag: Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited the drought hit areas of district Anantnag and took stock of mitigation measures taken by the Department for the relief of affected farmers. Director Agriculture visited different area of district Anantnag and talked to the affected farmers. During the interaction Director Agriculture said that Department is making every necessary move to mitigate the impact of drought and secure the farmer’s interest. He asked the farmers to adopt more crop per drop approach so that maximum output could be raised amid present scenario.
Chowdhary Iqbal directed the concerned officers to work in close coordination with affected farming community so that best possible interventions could be suggested to the farmers which will compensate the losses caused due to the drought situation.
Director Agriculture took stock of different mitigation measures including installation of community bore wells, water harvesting/ water lifting devices etc.
Director Agriculture was accompanied by Chief Agriculture Officer Anantnag and other technical experts of the Department during the visit.
