2 Day Workshop on ‘Role of ICT in Education’ held at AS College

SRINAGAR: The Department of Education and Department of Computer Applications of Amar Singh College, Srinagar, today jointly organized a two days workshop on the theme “Role of ICT in Education”, here.
Prof. Bashir Ahmad Rather, Principal of the College, inaugurated the workshop.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Rather deliberated upon the importance of digital resources and tools for improving the quality of instruction delivery and informed the participating students about the student-centric IT facilities available in the College.
The resource person of the workshop, Prof. Arshad Ahmad Yatoo, Head, Department of Computer Applications, delivered extensive presentations on the theme and deliberated on various digital libraries and e-content repositories from which students can benefit.
Prof. Yatoo also conducted demonstrative sessions regarding e-patshala, e-PG patshala, e-Shodhganga, e-shodhsindu, e-shodhgangotri, e-gyankosh, N-List and National Digital Library. Moreover, MOOC platforms like swayam, NPTEL and Spoken Tutorials were also discussed in the workshop.
Around 100 students and some faculty members participated in the workshop and received participation certificates.
Prof Kasira, Head, Department of Education, and Prof. Razia Samoon, Assistant Professor Education, conducted the proceedings of the programme. Prof. Arshad Husain Bhat, Prof. Owais Shafi Zargar and Prof. Jamsheeda provided technical support to the programme.
