SRINAGAR: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police alongwith civil authorities destroyed poppy cultivation in villages Bakihakar and Gorihakar falling in the jurisdiction of PS Handwara.
A joint team comprising of PS Handwara along with officials of Excise Department and Executive Magistrate Handwara destroyed illegal poppy cultivation spread over vast area of land in villages of Bakihakar and Gorihakar.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt strictly under law.
